Something Different, School Promotional Photo Shoot

Valerie Gabriel-Swenson, a talented director of public relations and marketing, contacted me to work on a special project with her.  She is part of the Prince of Peace Christian School team and she is working on promotional material for POPCS and asked me tojoin in on this project.  She is a wonderful lady, and I was happy to work with her on this school shoot.

I don’t do school shoots often, but I do photograph children of all ages, very often.  My style of shooting is very relaxed and I think my style fit well with what Valerie was looking to capture for POPCS.

The shoot was incredibly fun and I loved working with the kids.  From the little ones to high schooler, all the kids were so awesome and did a fantastic job in front of my camera.  Thank you kiddos!!!

A big thank you to POPCS for welcoming me and allowing me to work so closely with the everyone on this project, especially Valerie.  You guys have a wonderful school and your students are blessed to be part of it.

Here are just a few shots captured.  Best models ever!!!

Sandra & Edward: Grove Isle Wedding

Flying back home to Miami to shoot a destination wedding, was something I didn’t plan on doing anytime soon, especially in April, which is probably one of my busiest months.

Deisy, one of my best friends since elementary school, called me to shoot her sister’s wedding in 3 weeks.  Yes, major short notice and it took some intense planning from my part to be able to say yes and go, but I LOVE these girls and I was honored they called me.  Deisy and her sister, Sandra, suffered a devastating loss just a few short weeks before Sandra’s wedding, so my job was not just of a photographer, but of a friend.  I needed to be there and I needed to capture this wedding for many reasons, but mainly because I LOVE these girls.  I already said that, but sometimes once is just not enough.

I arrived in Florida and after a long night of catching up, I got to work.  The wedding was gorgeous and the location was so Miami.  Ocean views, humid night air, amazing seafood, palm trees, and partying the night away to too many Pitbull tracks to keep track of =).

Sandra, you were a beautiful bride.  I wish you and Edward a lifetime of love, unity, and unconditional friendship.  Thank you for having me and allowing me the opportunity to capture your special day.

My girl, Sandra looked so stunning.

Nuptials
Such a handsome family Sandra has.

Sisters
Love this shot.
A little bling is always nice.

Annabelle is ONE

A few weeks ago, I had the huge honor to capture the absolutely beautiful Annabelle and her equally wonderful parents, as she was about to turn one.  Annabelle looked beyond cute sitting in the field of Texas Bluebonnets. You can just see how much mommy and daddy love their baby doll.  She truly is the apple of their eyes.

Happy birthday Annabelle.  I wish you a toddlerhood full of adventure, giggles, and all the love a precious child deserves.

Such a doll face!

Look at those little teeth.  Cuteness overload.

I love how Annabelle’s little arm is peeking through the field.

Ballerina toes.

Spring Has Arrived

The rain has come and with it Spring.  Waking up to a green Dallas is beautiful.  The most beautiful thing about Spring time in Texas by far, has to be the wildflowers blooming all over the place.  The Bluebonnet is a Texas staple and after a fun morning of amusement rides at Firewheel Town Center in Garland, my family and I found ourselves pulling over and rolling in hills of bluebonnets.  They have a very sweet smell that is not overwhelming and they are really vibrant in color.  Just beautiful.  I do suggest not wearing white, as I was, but this was an impromptu shoot.  I hope the oxi clean, my white jeans are soaking in, works it’s magic and get out the green and blue stains =/.

Check out my husband and his ability to stay spinning on the “spiny thing” of the fun house.  The kiddos watching him, got a kick out of watching “the big guy spin.”

I’m obsessed with this ferris wheel.  It’s soo pretty.

Texas wildflowers are gorgeous.

We had such so much fun with our two boys.

My hubby even got in on the shooting action and captured these images.  I think he is on his way to becoming a great second shooter.

Happy Spring Everyone!!!
